Laura Bickle
Embers by Laura Bickle

Laura Bickle delivers a surprisingly diverse debut novel in Embers. A vague statement to be sure but true as there are some truly wonderful and refreshing elements of this book but they get overshadowed by some bad plot lines and unrealistic character interactions. To put it simply everyone will enjoy some aspect of this book whether it is the arson investigation, Sparky the Fire Salamander, or the author’s articulation of Detroit and the paranormal. However it is ones ability to take everything at face value that will really decide how much you enjoy the novel.

Ilona Andrews
Magic Bleeds - Book 4 of Kate Daniels Series by Ilona Andrews

For those unfamiliar with Kate Daniels and the post shift world of Atlanta, you sure are missing out on an excellent Urban Fantasy series. Magic Bleeds continues the fast paced emotional thrill ride begun in Magic Bites tying up some of the major plot lines but leaving the stage open and on the brink of serious world changing events. Although you can read this novel by itself I highly recommend you read the previous 3 installments to get the most enjoyment out of this fantastic novel by Ilona Andrews

Karen Chance
Touch the Dark by Karen Chance

Touch the Dark is a thrilling ride through a vampire, werewolf, demon, fairy, and ghost riddled modern earth. Cassandra Palmer a young clairvoyant or “seer” is on the run in this urban fantasy from her vampire guardian Antonio who killed her parents when she was only 4 to get complete access to her sight and ability to tell the future.

Rob Thurman

Moonshine is a secluded bar catering to those monsters and boogeymen with a more blood thirsty attitude. Cal, Niko, and Promise our contacted by a man working for Cerberus a higher up member of The Kin (werewolves) who wants the team to gather proof that a rival is planning on trying to kill him. This simple case of undercover detective work pulls in their friend Robin Goodfellow (Pan) a womanizing gambler, just what they need for infiltrating the bar and gambling den of Moonshine

In usual fashion this simple case dissolves into chaos as the Leandros brothers are betrayed and plots within plots are revealed leaving the reader no clue who is the mastermind behind this plot right up until they show themselves.
